Music Project:Understanding the song lyrically

Today we started the music brief and we where taught to understand a song through going through a three step process. Firstly, listen to the song and wright an opinion on what you think it means. Secondly, listen to the songs with the lyrics after doing that see if your opinion on the song was incorrect or not. Lastly, Listen to the song and watch the music video which might change your opinion or reinforce or even make you realise something new.

I did this with three songs and although at the end I could do it I still missed little things which where important to the story being told I think that understanding someone else songs is hard at times also not being a song producer/creator/influencer myself makes it harder for me to understand the "true" meaning of the songs.And I will be working to improve this because at times I had no idea what was meant by some of the lyrics/words used in the songs.
